As a software developer, I "get" open source code. As a DIYer, I love Peter Nidzgorski's Open Source Storage projects. I based my TV stand on his brilliant idea.
Thanks Alan. The top and bottom are 48" x 15". The sides are 4 3/4" x 15". If I were to do another, I'd mitre the corners, in lieu of the overlapped joints.
Both glue and nails were used, winesnoop. Holes were pre-drilled, 2" nails were hammered in place, then recessed slightly with a nail set. Finally, some puddy was used to hide the nail heads.

DeletePeter Nidzgorski recommended 1" EuroPly maple, which looks better but was not readily available in Kansas at the time.
